Materials & Care

What it's made of
matters as much
as how it's made.

Primary Material

Full-Grain
Cow Leather

Full-grain leather is the highest grade possible — the outer layer of the hide, with the natural grain intact. It has not been sanded, buffed, or corrected. Every mark in the original hide remains, which means every piece of Pukkacrafted leather is genuinely unique.

Australian cattle leather is prized for its density and temper — the natural resistance and spring in the hide that allows it to hold structure without stiffness. Over time it develops a deep patina that reflects exactly how it has been carried and used. No two age the same way.

This is the opposite of vegan leather, which is plastic in another name — it does not age, it degrades. Our leather gets better. Every year.

Hardware

Solid Brass. Nothing Else.

Zippers

YKK brass zippers throughout. The industry standard used by the world's finest leather houses. They will outlast the bag.

D-Rings & Clasps

Cast solid brass. Not plated zinc. Brass develops a warm patina alongside the leather, aging as one unified object.

Stitching Thread

Waxed linen thread, double-needle saddle stitched. Stronger than the leather itself. If a stitch breaks, the wax holds the adjacent ones in place.
